We invite you to submit your own recordings of Australian English

If you have any recorded speech data that you would like to contribute to our research you can contact Felicity Cox (felicity.cox@mq.edu.au) or Sallyanne Palethorpe (sallyanne.palethorpe@maccs.mq.edu.au). Unfortunately, we are not able to comment on individual recordings but would be delighted to add your recordings to our database of Australian English. Any data is treated confidentially and is subject to the conditions covered in the ethics approval for this project from Macquarie University.

If you would like to record some speech data specifically for this project we would be able to supply you with a list of words and short sentences that could be recorded.

We are also very interested in any recordings of the speech of people born in the late 1800s or early 1900s. This would be of great benefit in the study of the history of the Australian accent.

If you would like to register your interest in being involved in any of our research projects please contact us at the email addresses above.

Coming Soon

We would like to invite you to upload a voice recording to Australian Voices.

Your voice will be added to a growing library of sound files which will assist us in learning more about the changing Australian accent.
